IRS Warning: Be Aware of Child Tax Credit Scams

Just days after the IRS have started to send millions of families checks as part of the enhanced child tax credit and the agency have already issued a warning to parents about scammers trying to take the money.

“The IRS is deeply involved in processing and programming that overlaps filing seasons,” he said. “Any further extension beyond November would adversely impact our work on the 2020 and 2021 filing seasons.”

The IRS encourages everyone to use the Tax Withholding Estimator to perform a “paycheck checkup.”
